| 10 Years St. Moritz Gourmet Festival |
Specially enticing events to celebrate the Anniversary
Not only will the Gourmet Festival Jubilee be held during a different period this
winter (from March 10 to 15, 2003), it will also have a whole series of novelties
and highlights to offer. The Festival will be inaugurated by the Grand Gourmet
Opening Cocktail at the Carlton Hotel (March 10, 2003), where participating guest
teams from around the world will be demonstrating their skills a first time.
Tuesday, March 11 is the day of the greatly anticipated Jubilee Gala Dinner on
Corviglia (2,500 m. above sea level). Festival founder Hartly Mathis will be
creating a surprise menu together with the Festival's current President, his son
Reto.
Following the resounding success it met with last year, the "Kitchen Party" will be
repeated, and will again be held at Badrutt's Palace Hotel on Wednesday, March 12.
True delicacies and a great atmosphere are guaranteed!
Throughout the entire week, additional events are scheduled at the Hotel Steffani
and at the Crystal Hotel - for example olive oil tastings, wine master classes run
in cooperation with Caratello Wines and Culinary Master Classes with Billy Marinelli
from the USA.
Davidoff, Moët & Chandon and Heinz Winkler, a German chef who can boast three
Michelin stars, will be presenting an exceptional gourmet experience at the Suvretta
House on March 14 - a gastronomic journey full of delight for the palet, in which
each course will be accompanied by a different type of Champagne. Moët & Chandon's
cellar master will personally lead through the evening, commenting on the great
wines and on the delicacies that Winkler has created to complement them. Selected
Davidoff cigars accompanied by choice Cognacs of the houses of Hennessy and Davidoff
will crown the evening, and its firework for the senses.
As every year, the Festival highlight will be the Davidoff Grand Gourmet Finale. It
will be held on Saturday, March 15 at Badrutt's Palace Hotel. The participating
guest and resident teams will be working in tandem to create a multi-course menu!
Participating hotels will also this winter be proposing several special offers that
are sure to appeal to gourmets, from a 3-day stay (starting at CHF 940.00) to a full
Festival week.
